UTI infection causes

The urinary tract is the passage way for the body to dispose of liquid wastes. It contains of a bladder, kidneys, two ureters and a urethra. These handle the complex function of filtering and releasing the wastes from the human body.

UTI or urinary tract infection is a common infection that affects most people at least once sometime in their life. In most cases the uti infection causes are common and is due to bacterial infection and the treatment is also very simple.

UTI infection is caused by bacteria that enter the urinary system through the urethra. These settle in the urinary tract or the bladder and multiply quickly, which results in the infection.

In most of the uti infection cases the cause is e.coli bacteria. Although in most cases it is a mild infection, in some, it can cause severe pain. UTI infection causes are found in both men and women.

Further age is not a bar for UTI as elderly as well as children are susceptible to such bacterial attacksUTI is more common among women compared to men.

This is attributed to various reasons and one of the common uti infection causes among women is pregnancy. Pregnant women seem to experience UTI.

They also have a need to urinate more frequently as they reach the advanced stages of their pregnancy. Further anyone who is suffering from sugar related diseases like diabetes also experience UTI more than others.

Dietary problems can be one of the major uti infection causes. Eating spicy food and vegetables rich in fat has also been known to cause UTI as they all tend to irritate the bladder.

Eating lots of chocolates or other sweets rich in sugar can increase the chance of UTI as sugar stimulates the bacteria’s growth. Drinking a lot of coffee or other caffeine rich drinks can prove to be the cause of UTI as well.

The best bet is to drink a lot of water and fluids and keep oneself well hydrated. Having around 7 to 8 glasses of water or fluids per day would help in flushing out the bacteria from the system and help preventing UTI.

Coffee, milk, juices or soda do not help in hydrating the body and so should not be taken into account. Keeping up oneself well hydrated and having a healthy diet should be able to help a person to get out of UTI quickly and painlessly.
